From First Consultation to Project Completion – Learn What It’s Like to Work with Blessing Landscapes
Our landscaping design/build process is designed to ensure clear expectations, excellent communication, and results you will love for years to come. We offer comprehensive residential and commercial landscape design, installation, and maintenance services in the greater Portland area.
It starts with a free consultation to discuss your ideas, wants, budget, and timeline restrictions. Then, we work with you to provide solutions targeted to check the boxes that are most important to you.
Throughout the design and installation phases, we’re here to answer any questions you have and ensure your project runs smoothly. We also offer ongoing maintenance services to ensure your gorgeous new landscape stays in great condition.
Setting Up a Free Consultation
When you contact us, the first thing we do is gather some basic information about what you’re looking for and the basic components of your landscaping ideas. This is to ensure your project falls into the scope of the services we offer.
This is generally a quick and easy process. Once we’ve confirmed that we can deliver the results you’re looking for, we’ll schedule you an appointment with one of our design and sales specialists to meet with you onsite at your home or property.
At this initial consultation, we’ll discuss the following, in addition to answering any questions or concerns you may have:
- Design ideas
- The steps of the installation process
- Your budget and timeline
- Any boxes that need to be checked
Project Proposal
If your project is relatively simple, our design and sales specialist can assemble a project proposal and email it typically within 1 week for your review . If your project is more complex, we’ll provide pricing for design services (discussed below).
We offer value-driven design solutions. This means we make it a priority to work within your budget and make suggestions and offer alternatives to develop a creative and cost-effective design. The proposal process allows you to review the details of the project before we get started. That way, you know what you’re getting and at what cost.
Design Phase
For involved projects, we offer detailed design services for our clients. During the design-phase, you’ll work with one of our dedicated, in-house landscape designers to discuss ideas and finalize all the details of your project. Your designer will offer specific solutions based on your property, preferences, and budget.
We’ll work with you throughout the design phase to ensure that all the elements you want are included in the design we present to you. These elements can include:
- Patios
- Retaining walls
- Covered structures
- Outdoor kitchens
- Fireplaces and firepits
- Water features
- Swimming pools
- Plantings and lawn areas
- And more!
We’ll always adjust our recommendations to accommodate your budget and timeline.
Design Timeline
Step 1: Initial Design Consultation
A landscape designer will perform a site analysis, take measurements, and interview you to gather all the important details of your project to ensure we capture all the design elements you’re hoping to achieve.
Step 2: Design Creation
Your designer can then get to work transforming your dream into a landscape design that is tailored to your site specifications and your individual wants and needs. During this process, if they have any questions, they will reach out for clarification.
Step 3: Presentation
Finally, your designer will present 1) their completed design and 2) a proposal for installation services. Any questions or concerns you may have about the design or proposal can be discussed during the meeting.
Note: You don’t have to worry if there’s anything you don’t like in the proposed design, since one design revision is provided free of charge.
Step 4: Scheduling Your Installation
Once the proposal is signed and a deposit is received, a start date for your project will be set. Installations are scheduled depending on your availability and ours, and we’ll work with you to schedule your project on a timeline that works for you.
Landscape Installation Phase Begins!
A week or two prior to the start of your installation, you’ll meet with your design/sales specialist and one of our skilled project managers. The project manager’s job is to ensure the installation runs smoothly and according to plan and that you’re satisfied with the results.
Rain or shine, we don’t let weather stop us. Our uniformed installation crews work year-round to create beautiful, unique landscapes. All members of our crews are highly trained and always keep a safe, clean jobsite, overseen by a dedicated project manager.
Project Completion
Once we’ve started working at your home, we’re committed to being there every day until the project is complete. Complex projects can take several weeks to complete, while simpler projects may be completed more quickly.
Once your installation is complete, we’ll schedule a final walk-through, answer any questions you have, and discuss maintenance services to ensure your new landscape stays beautiful for years to come.
Warranties & Post-Installation Maintenance
We don’t just complete your installation and disappear. Unlike most landscaping companies, Blessing Landscapes has a dedicated warranty department. That means any issues that occur after your new landscape has been installed will be handled with care and in a timely fashion.
We also offer post-installation landscape maintenance, which includes everything from lawn maintenance and weed management to pruning, fall leaf clean-up and irrigation winterization.
Our Process During Covid-19
We have precautions in place to ensure the safety of you, your family, and our teams during Covid-19. We offer outside-only and video-conferencing meetings when possible, maintain social distancing measures during in-person consultations, and wear masks when we’re in your presence.
